We have received requests for financial help from students who are not in the position to pay for a spot but who would really like to be a part of the retreat experience in order to receive the doctrine and meet other like-minded gnostics and instructors. For some, this will be the first time that they are around other gnostics. It was an invaluable experience for many last year and we would like to help as many students as possible to have this opportunity. Go to the Gnostic Store to sponsor a student. Please consider helping the following student(s):Student 1: Hello All! It has been several years since the works of Samael Aun Weor were seeded within me, only to noticeably begin to flourish within the past year, especially after I was greatly helped with the wisdom offered by friends who had just returned from last year's retreat. Recently, I have been so happy to be transcribing lectures for the Gnostic Teachings website - this is a wonderful way to study! And, I have come to understand, through the forum and the local gnostics, that this is a community which is quite apart from any other and a breath of fresh air. As I am a 'starving artist' and grandmother-nanny, my funds for attending this year's retreat are sadly non-existent, but I would gladly help out while there and pay back a sponsorship as soon as I am able to. -hopeful in Toronto
Student 2: I am writing for my son. He doesn't realize I am aware of this retreat, let alone asking for sponsorship for him. He speaks of this retreat often, but does not have the money to attend. I would love to help him. He is nearly 22. He is my "thinker" in the family. His thoughts run deep. Sometimes too deep. Despite his fun loving spirit, friendly smile and personality, and open soul, he deals with chronic obsessive thoughts and anxiety since a kid. They interfere with his life. He refuses to take medicine at this point, and is learning to conquer these issues by healthy living. I am so proud to see his efforts and successes. Fall of 06, he was so set back he could not function, dropping out of school and work. My heart broke for him. He is much improved after much soul work. Since he began studying gnosticism, his life has changed. For nearly a year, he lives the most wholesome life of all his friends. He reads gnostic wisdom to me while I prepare dinner and encourages his friends with their life's issues. He has gained a sense of humble confidence and his smile brightens my life. For the first time in many years, I see him ready to take on life again. I support him fully with his spiritual journey and would like to see him attend. He has no money of his own currently, and is looking for work. He is hoping to begin college again this summer or fall. I can help him with some of the cost, but not all. He would not even want to accept my money. He would LOVE to attend, as he is striving daily to know more and more. He reads endlessly, and is like a sponge to grow in compassion and greater self awareness. He may not want me to write to you about this, but surely he knows enough about ego now to realize his limitations. He does not have the finances to attend. He would be so grateful if I were surprise him in this way. Thank you so very much. Most sincerely, L
